MVS Audio Visual are fast becoming one of the UK’s leading audio visual installation and maintenance providers. Being trusted supply partners to some of the UK’s fastest growing compaines has aided the Dorset based organisation to achieve significant growth and now be able to set their sights high for 2020. To achieve these ambitious targets, Simon Hurst has been appointed as Managing Director (MD) and enhanced their senior management team by making a number of internal promotions.
The company’s new MD, Simon Hurst will bring a wealth of experience to the position as he previously held the role of Commercial Director at MVS and has been with the organisation for 13 years. Having worked with many of the companies biggest global accounts, and his clear understanding of the era of AV technology we are in, Simon is able to provide a level of leadership to take MVS to new heights in what is a very fast changing industry. With full responsibility for the leadership and development of MVS, Simon will be crucial in achieving the company’s growth targets and building on the firm’s outstanding reputation for service and delivery.

Matt Cowan who was previously the company MD has transitioned to a mentoring role, offering key support to the senior management team. As the founder of the business, Matt has always encouraged internal staff progression within the company and is excited to now have more opportunities to help the many talented staff at MVS to step into and excel in more senior positions.

Other key appointments
Newly promoted Head of Sales, Alistair Maher, who has been with MVS since 2012 has now progressed to this role from Business Development Manager. Alistair has an excellent track record with sales, and has been a key member of the team during our growth over the last 5 years, whilst also successfully managing a number of relationships with the company’s larger key accounts.
Head of Projects, Ben Smits joined MVS at the beginning of his career in the AV industry in 2012, initially working within the warehouse he steadily progressed, as an installer, eventually taking on a leadership role within the installations team. In the 7 years that Ben has been part of the team, he has regularly received high praise for unrivalled attention to detail.
Lastly, the position of Service Delivery Manager has been appointed to Jenny Nixon. Jenny joined the company in 2016 as part of the projects and installations department and has always expressed an active interest in the service and maintenance side and the opportunities it presented. Jenny will be responsible for the continued growth of the service and maintenance department.
New London office and Dorset revamp
The success of MVS in the London AV market has allowed the organisation to undertake a number of high-profile projects, for end users such as The Berkeley Partnership, Huckletree, Interactive Investor, Motor Insurance Bureau, ISG, Home Away, Pearson Education, Arsenal Football Club, Wargamming, Audemars Piqguet, MeiraGTX, Capco, Rightmove, Sushi Samba and many more.
To keep pace with the demand for their services in central London, MVS have now moved to larger offices on City Road, Shoreditch. The new space benefits from a demonstration area to showcase the latest technology that is compatible with their strategic partners including, Zoom, Google, and Microsoft Teams.
The London team has also expanded to include Joe Edwards as account manager, Tom Slater as a sales consultant and additional AV installation engineers. The team are still looking to grow and are currently recruiting for positions in Project Management and Installation Engineers, and field service engineers.
MVS’ headquarters in Wimborne, Dorset have recently undergone a full revamp, offering a larger, more vibrant working environment. This has created additional meeting spaces, a large staff breakout area, a town hall space for all hands meetings, and a purpose built warehouse incorporating rack building facilities. A regional demonstration centre has been created where customers can experience how Zoom Video Conferencing works in a range of meeting rooms sizes, whilst also being able to use the latest hardware from top brands such as; Crestron Flex, Logitech Tap and Lenovo ThinkSmart Hub 500.
MVS believes their staff and the environments they operate within are key to their success and therefore are committed to heavily investing in staff training and ensuring they are ahead of the game when it comes to new technologies. To discover the upcoming trends in the AV industry, the team have also attended global conferences this year such as Zoomtopia in California and the Google Cloud Partner summit in Stockholm in October.
Having undertaken large projects across Europe; in Madrid, Marseille, Dublin and Geneva, MVS are proud to announce that the growth over the last 12 months has been a significant development for the business.
